THE METHOD

How the Voi Score is calculated, in full.

A score nobody can check is a marketing device. A score anybody can check is a standard. Credit ratings publish their methodology, and so does this.

Every weight, every rule, every known weakness. If you disagree with something on this page, tell us and we will argue it out in public.

THE FORMULA

Five components, weighted.

Voi Score = (Sentiment×0.30) + (Volume×0.15) + (Momentum×0.20) + (Response×0.15) + (Consistency×0.20)
WORKED
EXAMPLE
(91×.30) + (84×.15) + (88×.20) + (78×.15) + (86×.20) = 86.4
86 Strong
THE BANDS

What a number means.

Bands are fixed and absolute, not a curve. If every business improves, every score rises — we do not grade against a bell to keep the distribution tidy.

THE RULES

Decisions we have made, and why.

CONFIDENCE

A score built on nine Voi’s is not a score.

Every Voi Score carries a confidence level, and below a threshold we will not show a number at all. A confident-looking figure derived from almost nothing is worse than no figure.

The same applies to money. Revenue-at-risk estimates on the Cracks view carry their own confidence, based on how many Voi’s support the pattern and how consistent it is across sources.

A source counts towards the source threshold only once it holds 40 or more Voi’s. Smaller sources still count towards the total.

KNOWN WEAKNESSES

Where this score is wrong.

Every measure has blind spots. Publishing ours is the difference between a standard and a sales pitch — and it is how we find out which ones matter most to fix.

GOVERNANCE

Nobody can buy a better score.

The Voi Score is not affected by what a business pays us. A free Claim account and an Enterprise account are scored by identical code. There is no premium adjustment, no paid removal of a blocker, and no way to suppress a Voi you dislike.

This is the load-bearing promise. The moment a score can be bought, it stops meaning anything, and so does the company that issues it.
